Live To Be Restored (LTBR), is a pro-adoption organization dedicated to increase awareness and bringing advocacy both in and outside of the adoption triad.  The adoption triad consists of the adoptee, the birth parents and the adoptive parents.  LTBR will provide support and services to adoptees and to their families, birth and adoptive with focus on the adoptee and their life long journey. LTBR will strive to bring awareness and facilitate creation of resources in our community that serve the adoptee. Resources both locally and nationally will be continually updated on the resource page of this website. LTBR will also facilitate support groups for the adoptee and the adoption community.

About the support groups

Definition of a support group from the vision of LTBR:

A support group is established to provide a building block for creation of a community where people come together to give and receive support, enlightenment, growth and vision to each other.   The support group empowers and leads us to a new place of perspective as we share in the experiences of those around us. As the support group develops into a community it provides the vehicle for change in our micro community and the community as a whole.

The adoptee only support group functions on the ideals that each adoption experience is different with varying levels of commonalities on which we can build a community with respect and compassion for all members.  Furthermore, this group functions on the intention to support and uplift each other so that we may let go of societal ideals and limiting beliefs about adoption in a way that brings liberation to our community.  This  group provides a container for each member to be free to their own expression of their experience. As a group we will function with the intention to accept all members and their experiences as valid and real from their perspective, no matter how different or similar they are to our own experiences.

The adoption triad support group functions on the ideals that we all must come together to promote real change and gain understanding, respect and compassion for the real challenges that exist within this community. Furthermore this group functions under the belief that we must all work together to change how adoption is perceived in our schools, governments, media and within the adoption community itself.  Finally, this group also provides a container for each member to be free to their own expression of their experience as valid and real from their perspective, no matter how different or similar they are to our own experiences.
